A YEAR AGO TODAY....... MARCH 30, 2010

    A year ago today is the day my hubby (fiance at the time) proposed to me. And Let me tell you I was the HAPPIEST GIRL on this earth!.... Since I was not up to date on my blog last year I'm going to let you all in on how it went down. So Brett's whole family was at Disneyland my Mom and my 3 friends Christa Mac, Sam Seamons and Trey Meeker. The whole time I thought nothing of it and just thought it was great to be surrounded by friends and family. The day went on and it was getting colder and I was getting hungry and these 2 things do not mix well with me so I was starting to get a little Grumpy... We finally ate at the Rain Forest Cafe with everyone and that helped a little bit, but now at this point i was way tired lol... Then I noticed everyone being really weird around me so I walked off from the group to one of the Disney shops just to look around. And this is where it started. My mom found me and handed me a letter.

Letter #1

    Megan- Life is a journey full of unexpected twists and turns. there are disappointments, heartaches and even times where we want to give up. But if we stay faithful and true, always moving forward with an eye of hope, we will ultimately reach our final destination... we will reach the destination the Lord would have us reach... a place where the most amount of happiness awaits. Often times we do not understand why things happen the way they do, and from time to time throughout this wonderful journey we make mistakes and fall. Luckily we have a loving Heavenly Father that has promised to never leave our side. He is the ultimate compensator, and though things may not always go as we plan, we can rest assure that he is taking us to where we need to be. He has also given us the support of family and friends... and hopefully a loving companion some day to walk with us side by side.

    For life is such Megs... a wonderful chaotic journey, full of unexpected stops along the way that make us who we are... and one day we will look back at all our moments and see a beautiful tapestry of events, marked by the Lords hand at every turn. SO with that in mind... I have planned a little journey for you this very day and it begins now! Your next stop will be a place many fear to go... a place where falling is inevitable... some even call this kind of plunge a "terror."

So for all of you who do not know The Tower of Terror is one of my most favorite rides so thats where the clue had me going. There I was greeted by the Bell Hop and he Handed me a picture frame with a picture of Brett and I with words on it that read.....
   
There's a hope inside where emptiness did once abide
A light in my eye that guides me by and by
There's a voice that's lifting the darkness away
And a love that grows more and more each and every day

The Bell Hop then handed me my next letter... it reads....

Letter #2

    I trust that if you're reading this you've found that with the right person by your side, no plunge is to terrifying. Isn't it amazing when you find someone you can love with your whole heart, falling is the best feeling in the world, when you're falling this way, it almost feels as if you're flying.

    This is what happens when you find love, fear and loneliness fade away and we are free to become the best version of ourselves. Even if dark times lay ahead, the light emitted by two people who love each other and the Lord will always lead safely home. Your next stop will be a place of darkness, some even call it the "final frontier." It will be there, amidst the mountain of "space" where you will find a light to help you on your way.

Let's just say if anyone knows how California Adventure and Disneyland are set up Tower of Terror is on one end and Space mountain is on the other... I have never walked so fast in my life to get to the next clue. At the entrance was another picture frame and another letter and sitting by it was a Light up Rose. The frame read the second part of the poem...

There's an aching within soothed by the very touch of your skin

A joy in my heart, since you've arrived, that has not ceased to part

There's peace in my soul where confusion once stayed

And feeling of gratitude, knowing I'm nevermore to be betrayed

Letter #3

    After safely passing through the darkness, you must now go to where the princesses wait. It is here where they greet others and display their beauty for all the world to see. For this is what you are, a Princess blessed with beauty both inside and out who has blessed my life and the life of many others with your kind heart and loving smile.

This clue led me to my most favorite part in the park where all the princesses are. Here I found another picture frame and another letter. The next part of the poem reads

The day our hearts met
all my pain was swept away
and from this day on until the
very essence of time fades away
I'm yours and not a moment
will ever be missed
Seems my life didn't start
until the moment we kissed

Letter #4

    You have always been a princess in my eyes, and you will forever be my "SLEEPING BEAUTY." Go to the "castle" where sleeping beauty waited for her prince charming. In life there is a time to wait, and a time for us to finally see the joy of something actually working out. Megs, I know you've been through a lot and you have come out a stronger person because of it all... you've waited long enough!

Here is where I walked to SLEEPING BEAUTY'S CASTLE.. (I LIKE TO CALL MY CASTLE) finally getting through the crowd of people I saw the BEAUTIFUL castle blocked off and Brett standing right under the archway of the castle. Here is where he handed me another picture frame that read...

There's sacred a path for me

that I can now finally see

Even a road leading throughout all eternity

Your love is the greatest blessing

ever to grace my solitary life

And it would make me the happiest man

to call you my beloved wife.

At this moment Brett got down on one knee and  said, "WILL YOU MARRY ME" many people surrounded were cheering and right when he proposed 2 Disney workers gave us just engaged buttons. THIS IS WHAT MAKES ME THE LUCKIEST GIRL IN THE WORLD...... I LOVE YOU BRETT DUWAYNE COX.
